Boost or tow? How we decide
A boost fixes a battery that was drained: lights left on, a door not closed, a week of sitting. It does not fix a battery that is dead from age, a failed alternator, or corroded terminals. If your vehicle starts and the charging voltage looks right, drive it for at least 30 minutes without stopping. If it dies again, or the dash lights up while driving, the problem is the charging system and we will get you to a mechanic in Port Alberni or Ucluelet.
What to have ready when you call
- Your location and whether the vehicle is somewhere we can reach it, such as a campsite or an underground lot.
- Vehicle year, make and model. Some hybrids and EVs have a 12 volt battery that can be boosted, but the procedure is different, so tell us.
- What happened: clicking, slow crank, or nothing at all. It helps us bring the right gear.
- Whether it has died before recently. Repeat failures usually mean the battery needs replacing.

Can you jump start my car?
Yes. We boost cars, trucks, RVs and campers 24/7 across Ucluelet, Tofino and Port Alberni using a professional boost pack.
How long does a battery boost take?
Usually a few minutes once we arrive. If the battery is deeply drained it can take longer to accept enough charge to crank.
Can you boost a hybrid or electric vehicle?
Most hybrids and EVs have a 12 volt battery that can be boosted to wake the vehicle. Tell us the make and model so we follow the right procedure. We cannot charge a high voltage drive battery.
My battery keeps dying. Should I replace it?
If it has needed a boost more than once recently, or the vehicle is more than 4 or 5 years old on its original battery, replacement is the fix. A boost gets you to the shop.
Do you boost diesel trucks and RVs?
Yes. Our boost pack handles diesel pickups and motorhomes, including dual battery setups.
What if the boost does not work?
Then the problem is usually the starter, alternator or a fully failed battery. We can tow the vehicle to a shop and shuttle your passengers on the same call.
